1. Selecting the Right System

Before any design work begins, we’ll assess your property to determine the most suitable method of underfloor heating for your home. Key factors such as your floor construction, insulation levels, and chosen heat source – whether a heat pump or boiler – will guide our recommendation.

At Green Flare, we work with ROTH’s full portfolio of underfloor heating systems, offering solutions for virtually any floor type or project style. Whether you're working on a new build or retrofitting an older property, we’ll advise on the best system for your needs.

Our design process considers your property’s layout and heating requirements in detail. Once we’ve identified the most appropriate ROTH system for your project, we’ll provide a clear, itemised installation cost – ensuring full transparency from the outset.

2. Bespoke System Design and Review

Once the most suitable underfloor heating method has been selected, our in-house design team will create a detailed system layout tailored to your property. This design considers everything from room-by-room heat requirements to floor construction and how the system will integrate with your chosen heat source – whether that’s a heat pump or a traditional boiler.

Once complete, we’ll share the design with you for review. You’ll be able to see exactly how the system will be installed and how it connects to the rest of your heating setup. During this stage, we’ll walk you through the layout in detail, answer any questions you may have, and make any necessary adjustments.

Our goal is to ensure you feel confident in the system’s design and performance before we move forward to the installation phase.

3. Preparing for Installation

Once your design is approved, we’ll schedule the installation to align with your project timeline – whether that’s part of a new build, renovation, or retrofit. Our team will work closely with you or your main contractor to ensure everything is in place ahead of the installation.

This includes coordinating floor preparation, confirming manifold locations, and checking that all necessary provisions have been made to allow for a smooth and efficient installation. These early-stage preparations are crucial for keeping your project on track and ensuring that the underfloor heating system integrates seamlessly with the rest of your build.

At Green Flare, we pride ourselves on clear communication and collaboration, making sure all parties involved are informed, aligned and ready for the next stage.

4. Installation and Testing

With preparations complete, our experienced installation team will fit your underfloor heating system exactly to the approved design. Every pipe run, manifold connection, and control point is installed with precision, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Once installed, we’ll fill, flush and pressurise the system to confirm it is completely sealed and functioning as it should. This process ensures that there are no leaks and that the system is ready for the next phase of your project.

The system is then left pressurised and ready for your screed contractor to continue. This provides a clean handover to the next stage and gives you the reassurance that the underfloor heating is fully prepared for final floor finishes.

5. Final Commissioning and Handover

Once your project has progressed and the screed or final floor finishes are in place, our team will return to complete the installation. At this stage, we’ll fit the control system, set up your heating zones and carry out full commissioning of the underfloor heating.

This includes testing each circuit, calibrating the system for your property, and ensuring it works exactly as intended.

Finally, we’ll walk you through how everything operates, from using your thermostats to making the most of your system’s efficiency. We’ll also answer any remaining questions, so you feel confident managing your heating moving forward.
